….becoming the teacher's best friend!

“that parent”

After spending 14 hours in back-to-back teacher conferences, it dawned on me that parents crave straight-forward chatter about their student. All adults around the table have one goal in mind and that is to create the best opportunities for the student. When poorly-written assignments or untimely vacations get in the way, teachers and parents are quick to defend, but forget they are on the same team…cheering for the same player!

After taking a loooong look in the mirror and realizing I am the same parent that I complain about as a teacher (absent, non-communicative, forgettable, full-of-excuses), I realized that I need to share my process of going from “that parent” to the “Favorite Parent”.
